Our Roles and Responsibilities

Physical Assistance

Seniors often need physical assistance, whether they are coping with age or diseases like arthritis, diabetes or Alzheimer’s. While some physical needs are medical (and serious), others are more generic.

Our roles involving resident medical and non-medical needs include:

  • Keeping track of on-premises medical appointments and medication administration and management
  • Checking for symptoms of any existing illnesses or physical conditions
  • Meals in our dining room
  • Laundry services available
  • Assistance available with daily personal care like bathing, grooming and toileting

Emotional Care

As we age, we go through various emotional states like loneliness, regression, selective memory, and anxiety. We take care of our residents’ emotional needs.

Our roles involving our residents’ emotional care include:

  • Encouraging residents to make friends, engage with others and participate in activities
  • Talking, building emotional connections, and making them feel wanted
  • Engaging in fun activities, such as dancing, singing, listening to music, or taking a walk (where health permits)
  • Encouraging residents to socialize, stay active and realize they have a purpose
